Here Susan is pushing up to the Summit on the section of trail called the Golden Staircase. If you look carefully below, you can see both the Tennessee Scouts (the one group behind us), as well as the Canadian Warden on his way back to his cabin on the Summit. We thought we could keep ahead of the Warden until we got to the Summit. Boy were we wrong!
